Addresses that need to be routed must first be placed on the map. To find the right location the address is sent to third-party geocoding services. These translate the address to coordinates. The services may require a certain format of the address for optimal results.

In general, the preferred format of the address is:

<street> <house number>, <zip code> <city>, <state>, <country>

Note that address formats can be different for different countries.

Additional information

If you need more information with your addresses (e.g. company name, customer name or customer ID) do not include it as part of the address, but add it as additional fields at Import.

Address suffix

If all of your addresses are in the same area, like state or country, but the addresses do not hold this information, you can also add that default area information as address suffix in the options.
